1. Purpose

Captures video from an X window.
I created this program to record video from a NES emulator.

2. To use

To use, edit settings.cc, compile and run.

By default, it records into test0.avi.

3. Speed

According to my experience, The faster your RAM is, the better is the performance of this program.

4. Copying

xgetimage has been written by Joel Yliluoma, a.k.a. Bisqwit,
and is distributed under the terms of the General Public License (GPL).

5. Requirements

GNU make is probably required.

Requires the X Window System with SHM extension.

Requires mencoder (part of MPlayer).

No longer requires animmaker.

6. Downloading

Check there for new versions.
