1. Purpose

Apply brute force to find the most optimal way of file ordering when creating a solid archive (tar.gz, tar.bz2, rar).
Optimal means small size.
Can dramatically (5% to 20%) decrease the size of a file archive containing lots of similar files, like SPC music files.

2. Copying

optrar has been written by Joel Yliluoma, a.k.a. Bisqwit, and is distributed under the terms of the General Public License (GPL).

3. Requirements

GNU make is probably required.
